Parish Pastoral Council
FAQ
What is a Parish Pastoral Council ?
A Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) consists of the parish clergy together with a group of parishioners chosen by the parish
community.
A successful PPC reflects the broad spectrum of parishioners’ interests in the activities of the Parish working
collectively for the good of the Church and its family, near and far by promoting God’s values of love, justice and peace.
Why do we need a Parish Pastoral Council ?
Our Parish has a mission to be a living and breathing Christian community. In practical terms this means to initiate and
gather the people in worship; teach the message of Christ to all; and love God and our neighbours - often by example
This mission is fulfilled collectively and individually in many, many different ways according to our talents and calling.
The Parish Pastoral Council helps us fulfil this mission.
What will the Parish Pastoral Council do?
The Parish Pastoral Council works very closely with the Parish Priest to help monitor our mission and parish life.
It helps to identify pastoral needs, to evaluate what is
happening and to plan what needs to be done.
The Parish Pastoral Council will meet regularly (the first meeting of this PPC was held on Monday 19th February 2007),
and serves as an important channel of communication within the Parish,
so if you have any concerns, ideas or want any issues raised do not hesitate to inform any of the council members.
