About Us

The purpose of Scouting is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.

In our Cub Pack this purpose is achieved by encouraging the cubs to take part in fun and challenging activities. The activities usually take place during our regular weekly meetings. In the past these meeting activities have included games, craft work, first aid and finding out about the world around us. From time to time we also have special activities such as visits, sailing and flying in a light aircraft.

We also go on camps in the summer. Typical camp activities include archery, climbing, pot holing, bridge building and campfires.

Although the group is sponsored by the church, membership is not limited to Catholics. The spiritual element is a vital component of Scouting and there are Church Parades at the Catholic Church together with St. George's Day Parade at the Church of England Church. At Christmas there is a Carol Service where the gifts bought from money raised from 'Good Turn' fund raising events are presented.
