About Us

An adult discussion group which meets monthly to share matters of a faith-based nature. A printed programme which covers a variety of themes and topics for the year is available from the information area at the back of the church .The meeting may be led by an invited speaker or by a group member. The form of the day follows the same pattern: a morning of talk and discussion; a shared lunch and a time of prayer. Everyone is welcome to attend on a regular basis or to drop in for all or part of the day for one or two meetings. Donations are requested to cover the cost of speakers and the use of the Centre.

Encounter was established in St Joseph's Parish in the mid 70's when there existed a Junior Encounter and an Adult Encounter. In the early years a creche was provided for the pre-schoolers which allowed mothers to meet and share their faith with other adults.
